China/Energy: U.S. Company Negotiating
Expansion of Pipeline Project
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept.
28, 2004--Largo Vista Group, Ltd. (OTCBB:LGOV - News), an International
liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) service and trading company headquartered
in the U.S. with offices in both China and Vietnam, announced
today that it has entered into negotiations for the expansion
of an existing LPG residential pipeline network. The project
will be an addition to the second phase, a recently constructed
residential LPG pipeline project that the company built and currently
supplies in Zunyi, China (see website at http://www.largovista.com/).
Each pipeline project is under an exclusive 40-year supply contract
with LGOV. "What makes this event important," stated Ms. Denise
Deng, General Manager of LPG operations for Largo Vista Group,
Ltd. in China, "is that we did not expect a second phase of any
pipeline so quickly, and, in this case, we intend to use our
existing supply station, project two, for the expansion." She
went on to say, "We have been experiencing momentum since the
completion of projects one and two, and have attracted new business
opportunities, plus we are in early negotiations for pipeline
projects five, six and seven." Ms. Deng also stated, "Pipeline
projects three and four are currently past the 'letter of intent
phase' and the final agreement will be signed before long. Historically,
the planned residential developments have sold out quickly, but
with a slow occupancy rate. The positive side of a slow occupancy
rate is that it gives us more time to focus on new projects,
and, at least, they are locked into our service for 40 years."
Largo Vista Group, Ltd. is a leader in residential and industrial
pipeline construction for the Guizhou Province, which has a population
of 40 million. In 1996, LGOV operated the largest LPG retail
operation in Southwest China. Due to unethical short filling
tactics of local competitors, the company relocated the operations
to Zunyi. While there, LGOV spearheaded the organization of the
first LPG Association, which regulates and standardizes pricing,
and protects the market from illegal short filling operators
by enforcing fines and penalties. China is one of the world's
fastest growing economies with 9.1% growth in 2003 and 7% targeted
for 2004. Beijing has ordered the replacement of coal use to
more environmentally-friendly alternatives. LPG is an affordable
solution; NG (Natural Gas) is very limited.
